Explore Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle with this Dinosaur craft
We are exploring all things DINOSAUR recently and this has been SUCH a FUN theme! We kicked off this unit by making this awesome craft from cardboard! We love making this most of the many amazon packages we recieve!
I began by free handing some dinosaur patterns. I ofcourse had to include the T-Rex (per my son, LOL) and I decided a Brachiosaurus and Stegasaurus would be nice.
I “free hand” drew onto plain white paper and once I was satisfied I cut out my pattern and traced it onto these cardboard box flaps.
If you’ve ever cut cardboard, you know this can be tricky. I found cutting the components out was MUCH easier with an Exacto Knife.
My son enjoyed picking out colors and painting these dinosaur components. Be sure to paint both sides!
Finally, glue arms/ legs on to body components and complete your Dino! I used a hot glue gun but I’m sure craft glue would be just as fine with allowed dry time! Don’t forget to add eyes!
The Brachiosaurus and Stegasaurus stood just fine. T-Rex was a little top heavy LOL. My son enjoyed this none the less and spent his day creating his own Jurassic World!
Would you like to try this craft?
Ofcourse you would! I even uploaded the patterns for you so that you can get right to it! Now listen, they are not perfect! I’m no Picasso, but they will make for a fun creative experience:) I included the Brachiosaurus and T-rex in this download.
If you decide to give this a try, have fun and enjoy! And remember, creative experiences are all about the process not the finished product! If you had fun, you did well!
